American Airlines, US Airways Reach Merger Settlement With Government

Update 11:57am: AMR and US Airways have reached a settlement with the U.S. Justice Department over their planned merger to create the world's largest airline, write Jack Nicas and Brent Kendall. The Justice Department said Tuesday that it is requiring US Airways and American Airlines parent AMR to divest slots and gates at key constrained airports across the country to low-cost carrier airlines as part of the deal.
