Judge OKs S&P Fraud Suit, Nixing 'Puffery' Defense

A federal judge in California allowed the government's potentially groundbreaking case to move forward, rejecting arguments by Cahill Gordon & Reindel and Keker & Van Nest that the DOJ can't hang its complaint against S&P on corporate statements about the integrity of the company's rating process.
