Corporate Press Release Summarizing Internal Investigation Isn't Privileged
A press release announcing the results of an internal corporate investigation -- including the termination of executives -- is not shielded by California's litigation privilege, a state appellate court ruled Thursday, clearing the way for a former CFO's defamation lawsuit against a San Diego biotech company.
